ooma and district residents are invited to enjoy free jazz in the park on Saturday 6 February between 7 and 10pm.

Bring a picnic, and a picnic rug/chair and dine while you enjoy the lively sounds of Canberra big band, In Full Swing. This 25-member community band plays all the old swing favourites, and some contemporary sounds – from Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman, to Michael Buble.

In Full Swing, featuring lead vocalists Lauren Black and Tom Johnston, has entertained audiences at Floriade; at a dinner held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the High Court of Australia; and at the Merimbula Jazz Festival.

They are coming south to help new Cooma resident, Richard Marchbank, celebrate his 60th birthday. “I wanted to invite Cooma residents to share in the celebration, as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for the warm welcome we have received since our tree change from Sydney just over a year ago,” Richard, a saxophonist with the band, explains. “I look forward to sharing the vibrant big band sound with a park full of people.”
