Following the Post letter, “Have your say” by Phil Daley on 05/05/21, “Council’s moral obligation” by Bill Smits on 12/05/21, “Please buy what we’re selling you” on 14/04/21, and the “Postman” on 26/05/21, I raise further concerns about SMRC notification letters regarding our assets being reclassified to “operational” land.
This might just be The Postman being a tad grumpy, but how many other people are wondering WHY, of all weekends to carry out “planned maintenance”, Telstra had to choose probably the busiest weekend of the year for our region?
Some people like to trawl garage sales or village shops, or drive around checking out the local sights, but The Bloke and I sometimes get the yen to take a quiet drive through some of the little pocket communities around these parts and check out the houses.
In response to the Post article, “Council cuts services to reduce budget deficit” on 21/04/21, I feel it is particularly strange how our community (who receive the “services”) were never involved in this exercise. Surely, the very recent financial changes (which seem to be still occurring given May 2021’s Council meeting papers) alter the state of what Council is proposing as a draft budget and operational plan for public exhibition? So, what was placed on display should be updated and then re-posted for another 28 days.
Life goes by so quickly and we are all caught up in the living of it.
Sometimes it appears as if every day is the same, but that is so not true.
