Bat dominated ball during most of the Monaro District Cricket Association Snow FM T20 competition but over the weekend it was the bowlers turn to get among the highlights.
At just 14 years of age, Isiah Peisley is already one of the standout bowlers in Monaro senior cricket. Peisley produced one of the great bowling efforts on Saturday, capturing a double hat trick (four wickets in four consecutive balls) against the Cooma Titans.
Peisley’s four wickets started on the fifth and sixth balls of the first over of the match.
His next two wickets came off the first and second balls of the third over, leaving the Titans left reeling at 5-4. Peisley finished with 5/10 off his four overs.
Season 2025/26 has been an impressive one so far for Peisley who is rising through the ranks of junior representative cricket. Peisley is one of the main bowlers for the South East Storm under 14 side, which competes against Southern Tablelands, Highlands and Shoalhaven.
Peisley and Monaro cricketers, Lakyn Tonks, Thomas Preston, will feature in the South East Storm under 14 final on Sunday, 16 November at Cooma’s Rotary Oval. Start at 10am.
Peisley wasn’t the only bowler to snare a hat-trick over the weekend with Jindabyne quick, Simon Partell, also adding another to his name. Partell picked-up his third career hat-trick when he ran through the Titans middle order in the T20 grand final.
Partell dismissed the dangerous Hassan Nawaz, caught in the deep, before his next two wickets were LBWs. Not finished with three wickets, he collected a fourth in six balls.
It’s not the first time Partell has starred with the ball in a Monaro cricket grand final. He was awarded player of the grand final a number of seasons ago for a four-wicket haul.
The hat-trick started a run of wickets for Jindabyne with the Titans going from 1/117 to 9/162. 162 proved enough as the Titans claimed victory.
