Eden-Monaro has its say: Federal Election results

Eden-Monaro voters have had their say on who will be our next federal member with the polls now closed.

We will keep you updated throughout the night (Saturday, 3 May) on how the count is progressing.

Contesting the seat of Eden-Monaro are (in ballot paper order): Andrew Thaler, independent; Wade Cox, Trumpet of Patriots; Fraser Buchanan, HEART; Jo van der Plaat, Liberal Party; Brian Fisher, independent; Kristy McBain, Australian Labor Party; Emma Goward, Greens; and Richard Graham, Pauline Hanson's One Nation.

6.45pm - votes have been returned at Araluen and Queanbeyan Heights Central.

7.10pm - votes have been returned at 19 of 88 polling places, including Cooma North, Adaminaby, Nimmitabel, Dalgety in the Snowy Monaro.

7.45pm - votes have been returned at 34 of 88 polling places. No postals counted yet. Votes returned at key polling places, including Cooma North, Queanbeyan City Central, Merimbula, and Bega, amongst others. 

8.45pm - votes have been returned in 56 of 88 polling places. Awaiting postal votes.

9am Sunday, 4 May - With 79 of 88 polling places counted, Labor's Kristy McBain looks close to be in a position to claim the seat.
