‘Rugged terrain’ hampers rescuers in Snowy Mountains search

Steep terrain, heavy snow and inclement weather have hampered the efforts of a multi-agency search in reaching the wreckage of a missing aircraft.

Riverina Police District Commander, Andrew Spliet, said last Friday (before the pilot’s body was located) that the crash site could only be accessed from the air due to heavy snow and the terrain.
