For most golfers, be they a weekend hack or a more seasoned golfer, playing 18 holes in one day is enough time on the course.

If you are Cooma golfers, Bailey Burke and Hunter Caldwell, one round just isn't enough. The duo completed 72 holes at the Cooma Golf Club on Sunday, 21 December, walking close to 51km in the process.

While the pair do love their golf, they took up the challenge of tackling four rounds in just 12 hours in the name of charity. Caldwell and Burke has raised more than $2000 for the Cancer Council as part of its Longest Day golf fundraiser.

Caldwell and Burke sunk their final putts at 5.10pm, drawing to a close a long, sore but rewarding day. With their families cheering them on down the final fairway, the two highly accomplished golfers were relived to finish their 72nd hole.

"They tested their skill, strength and stamina to raise funds for the Cancer Council," Cooma Golf Club captain, Thomas Stewart, said.

The duo set out at about 6am, facing hot and windy conditions.
