Community radio station, 2MNO, has been busy of late, hosting and training new presenters and interviewing musicians both live in the studio, and from its outside broadcast from the recent Australian National Busking Championships (ANBC).

One of the station’s recent starters hosts ‘Folk in the Bluegrass’ on Tuesdays from 5-6pm, featuring folk, bluegrass and light country, with a focus on own local musicians. The presenter, Karen Forman, also plans to host live music from the studio and interviews.

In the new year, Sascha Ogilvy will bring a new program to Sundays showcasing lots of favourites from the last few decades. Sascha will take special requests and dedications.

Returning late in 2025 is The Seven Session - Tuesdays 7-8pm, a program which dives into an eclectic pick of music from Australia and around the planet.

“The station is thriving and is excited to be kicking off its new five-year plan: sourcing more training programs for the presenters; holding open days for the community; recording more live studio sessions, and broadcasting from live events, such as the ANBC,” 2MNO president, Dave Browne, said.

“Sharing local stories, a passion for music and bringing local news to the Monaro is what 2MNO loves to do. The station connects the Monaro and the rest of the world through the radio waves, internet and the community radio app.”

Mr Browne said news will be forthcoming for the 2MNO open day at the Cooma studio in early 2026. He said 2MNO is encouraging people to come along with ideas for a radio show.
