The last ‘Nimmity News’ printed and published by the current volunteers was circulated through the Nimmitabel district this month, but it looks like it will continue.
Chris Haylock has called time on her years as the producer of Nimmitabel’s latest news and views publication.
The final edition was free as a thank you to its advertisers and readers.
Mrs Haylock wrote in the last issue she is happy to hear the publication will be supported by the Nimmitabel Chamber of Commerce.
“I am glad there are plans to continue,” she said.
“The Nimmity News started in 1994 as a committee of Nimmitabel Advancement Group (NAG), so I hope you will throw your support behind the new committee and their work,” she added.
Mrs Haylock thanked South East Printing, Judy Collman for her many years of work, the community for all the kind words she has received, and many others, including contributors who have been involved with the newsletter.
The “Nimmity News”, a monthly newsletter, provides advertising opportunity in addition to informing locals of what’s going on, what’s happened and what’s coming up in the village and surrounds, plus other local snippets like death notices, community support and birthday greetings etc.
NAG has thanked Judy Collman and Chris Haylock for their volunteer efforts, unwavering dedication and hard work.
“Your commitment to keeping our community informed, connected and inspired is truly invaluable. We are so grateful for all you have done over the past years.”
Another version of the monthly newsletter will begin in 2026.
“We encourage those who have contributed information to the newsletter in the past to support this endeavour. It is envisioned the first newsletter may happen before Easter.”
The Nimmitabel Chamber of Commerce (NCC) invites any community members interested in joining the local news working committee to contact them, to form a sub-committee. There is no requirement to be a member of NCC to join the sub-committee. Email: thenimmitynews@gmail.com if interested.
