Cooma real estate agent, Jodi Alexander, says hard work and honesty are the foundations for her success in the local market as she reflects on 10-years in the industry.

As the principal of One Agency Jodi Alexander, based in Vale Street Cooma, Jodi has forged an exciting and rewarding career in just a decade.

Jodi stared her career in real estate as a property manager, working for Craig Schofield. With a passion for helping people, Jodi soon entered the world of sales, before taking over the business in April 2024.

As Jodi reflects on a decade in the industry, she said being true to herself has held her in good shape.

"Be honest, work hard and do what you say you’re going to do. Communication is probably one of the most important parts of being a successful agent, clients should never have to wonder what’s happening," Jodi said.

"I also think consistency is key. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room; you just need to be reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in achieving the best outcome for your clients."

Jodi praised the hard work of her team, declaring she is looking to continue growing her business and its reach in the Snowy Monaro.

"I’d love to continue growing my business through repeat and referral clients and to be known as someone people can trust with one of the biggest decisions they’ll make," Jodi said.

A large part of Jodi's journey has been working closely with clients.

"I’d like to continue building on what I’ve created, keep learning and continue providing a high level of service to my clients. Real estate is constantly changing, so I think it’s important to keep adapting while still maintaining the personal approach that people value," Jodi said.

"I'm probably most proud of the relationships I’ve built along the way. Sales are obviously important, but receiving a referral, having a past client come back to you or knowing someone trusted you enough to recommend you to their family or friends means a lot.

"I’m grateful for the people who have trusted me with their property journeys over the years. That trust is something I never take for granted, and it’s a big part of why I still love what I do."

Jodi is encouraging anyone interested in working with people and looking for a new career, to consider real estate. She said each day offers a new challenge.

"I think one of the great things about real estate is that no two days are the same. You meet so many different people, hear so many stories and get to experience different parts of the community through your clients," Jodi said.
