The Jungle Giants, a popular Australian band known for their energetic indie-rock and alternative dance music are coming to Jindabyne this Saturday 29 August.

After touring the world for the past five years, the energetic four-piece return to stages down under with their fifth studio album, ‘Experiencing Feelings of Joy’ with Jindabyne being the last stop on their tour.

Supported by up and comers The Tullamarines, known for one of their recent releases ‘Running on Empty’ which placed #97 in the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown last year, and band Tear Drive.

Excited to hit the stage at The Station in Jindabyne, band members Sam, Andrew, Keelan and Cesira are no strangers to the area after DJing a party and playing at the resorts over the years.

“However, this is our first real gig in Jindabyne and we couldn’t think of a better way to finish our tour off than with a bang,” lead singer, Sam Hales, said.

Describing themselves as a ‘bad snowboarding band’ Sam said, “I understand it’s been a pretty tough snow season this year and we want to bring the snow community together for one big party to lift the spirits.”

Originally from Brisbane, all four band members went to school together and created the band at the young age of just 16 years old.

“We’ve spent more than half our lives playing in the band together,” Sam said.

When asked what inspires the style of music the band plays, Sam said it’s a mixture of things.

“I’ve been a drummer my whole life, something I really enjoy and while my style of music started with indie-rock, I love rhythmic music. Then I moved into more progressive house and while these styles would inform the music I make, it’s just an amalgamation of rhythms that I love.”

When asked what song gets the crowd roaring Sam said their popular track that people always go nuts for is ‘Heavy Hearted’.

“But what has really surprised us during this tour is one our first singles ‘She’s a Riot’ has been the most popular among the crowds, the single came out 12 years ago and it’s nice to see people still enjoying it,” Sam said.

The album’s lead single ‘Tell Me How It Feels’ is a clear indication of the new era of music, featuring fresh vulnerability and sound, while still distinctly ‘Jungles’.

With close to half a billion streams under their belt and a reputation for lighting up the stage, their last tour show will not be one to miss.

“For us this time around, this tour has been really cool to experience playing in the more regional/rural areas and we look forward to adding Jindabyne to our tour circuit,” Sam said.
