Landholders are encouraged to join South East Local Land Services in the search for elusive Grassland Earless Dragons and Little Whip snakes. These rare species are vital to the region’s ecosystem, and rural residents’ participation helps protect them.

The field event will be held at grasslands at the Michelago Travelling Stock Reserve - opposite the corner of Micalago Road and Monaro Highway, Michelago on Friday, 30 January from 9am - noon.

The event is of interest to any size landowner managing grasslands and grassy woodlands who is excited to learn what species call their land home.

Participants will learn to identify Grassland Earless Dragons and Little Whip snakes; to understand their habitats and roles in grassy ecosystems; how to safely check if you have these species; where to contribute potential sightings of these species; and land management actions to help protect these species.

This is a daytime field event in open grasslands.

To participate sturdy boots, sun protection and water is required.

There are no toilets or catering.
