Jindabyne High School has delivered outstanding results at the 2026 Australian Interschools Snowsport Championships at Perisher earlier this month.

The school has cemented its position among Australia’s elite school snow sport programs, finishing 2nd Co-Ed school in Australia and 1st public school.

It was a huge week for the school’s team, with students delivering a remarkable series of podium finishes across cross country, alpine, snowboard, ski cross, moguls and slopestyle events.

One of the standout days saw JHS claim multiple national victories, however, including Gold for Addison, Reagan and Emily in Snowboard GS Division 3 Female, Gold for Addison in the individual event, Gold for Addison, Reagan and Attana in Snowboard Cross Div 3 Female, Gold for Flynn, Harry and Lawson in Slopestyle Ski Division 1 Male, and Gold for Hudson, Kalani and Zac in Slopestyle Board Division 2.

The school also recorded silver and bronze medals across numerous disciplines, including Snowboard Cross, Snowboard GS, Moguls, Cross Country, Ski Cross and Multi Class, podium performances from students including Addison, Matilda, Flynn, Hudson, Kalani, Zali, Aisha-Juliet, Mannix, Oscar, Archer, Attana, Makenna, Kaydence, Cameron, Max, Kiani, Scarlett and Lexi

“It was great to see so many of our Jindabyne High students qualify for the National Australian interschools event this year," Teacher and Snowsports Coordinator at Jindabyne High School, Paul Livissianos, said.

"Although the weather and the conditions were variable, the students got out there and gave it a red hot go, I was so proud of them for doing that. It was fantastic to see our younger students excel across all disciplines. This success is extremely encouraging for the future of the JHS Snowsport team and I can’t wait to see what they do in the coming years.”

Jindabyne High School principal, Kelly Henretty, congratulated all students who have competed at any level in Snowsports Interschools this year.

"We are incredibly proud of your efforts, commitment and achievements," Ms Henretty said.

"We are so fortunate to have such talented students, and equally fortunate to have the incredible support of our staff and parents. None of this would be possible without their hard work and dedication in supporting our athletes and events at the Snowsports Interschools Competition."

The week wasn't without its challenges, with competitors facing everything from sunshine and rain to fog and strong winds, including what coaches described as one of the craziest weather days they had experienced on the mountain.

There is also a special milestone for Frances, Tash and Joe, who have reached the end of their long Interschools careers after years of competing for Jindabyne High School.
