No Byline
From the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW Bombala Branch
We apologise for the lack of communication from our auxiliary over the past few years, but due to bushfires and the dreaded Covid we have not been able to meet as frequently as we would have liked.
Our fundraising has been limited to street stalls when possible, and our Winter Warmers and Christmas raffles.
Our motto is “Let us hold high the lamp of service for the welfare of our hospitals”.
To honour our motto we have over the past few years been purchasing equipment for the critical and the nursing care units of the Bombala MPS.
The equipment we have purchased for the hospital includes hearing test equipment, AED trainer, over toilet aid, self propelled wheelchair with shelf and table, 19 analogue clocks, four fall prevention systems, two Viva isolation carts and accessories, transfer assist trolley, flowchart table, Arm-mltvein kit and accessory, bariatric mattress, Connex spot accy power stand, shower tilt and recline platform and seat, Aspire hydrolic and a urinalysis machine. The total cost over this time has been $50,769.
Added to this total is the ongoing support for the therapeutic and craft supplies for the nursing care patients.
The auxiliary also provided Christmas gifts, Easter surprises and gifts for Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day for anyone who happens to be a patient at the Bombala MPS on these occasions.
We are a very small and aging auxiliary who would be delighted to welcome any new members with new ideas. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 2pm at the hospital. Our meetings are usually only about one hour long so if you have an hour to spare we would love to see you. The cost of membership is $5 per year.
We wish to thank the Bombala and area community for their ongoing generosity to help us provide equipment for the benefit of our community.
