The list of attractions at the 115th annual Delegate Show is a colourful and lengthy one, with plenty of activities having been designed for showgoers of all ages and interests.
This is just the tip of the iceberg -
*Agricultural Industry Leaders Forum: Before the Delegate Show even kicks off on Saturday, a number of industry leaders representing various national and state agricultural groups will meet with locals at the Delegate Showground on Friday night. All are encouraged to come along for a panel discussion and some networking on the evening of March 3.
*A huge series of exhibits: All of the action in the rings, the fascinating pavilion and various livestock entries will have everyone impressed. Including the judges!
* Dog Jumps: Thanks to the sponsorship of Lewis RLA Livestock and AgriWest Cooma (formerly Cooma Rural), the Dog Jumps are back at the Show and will have categories for everyone’s hound, from the working dogs through to the open and minis.
* Working bullock team demonstration: Bradley Matthews will return to the Delegate Show with his latest team of bullocks, adding a touch of bush heritage to the show.
*Pushbike decorating: The kids will be encouraged to “pimp their rides” for some great prizes in the Best Decorated Pushbike Competition.
* Displays and stalls: Various groups, including the Snowy Monaro Regional Council, will have information to share, and stallholders of all different kinds will have their wares on offer. A special display of shoes decorated by Joan Jones will again be on show in the pavilion this year.
* Guess the Weight of the Bull: Win a $50 prize if you come up with the closest figure.
* Basketball Shoot Out: A traditional active favourite run by Ian Sellers.
* Barnyard Nursery: The Snowy Monaro Regional Council sponsor this particularly cute and cuddly attraction.
* Sheep Colouring: Branding spray is supplied by Nutrien Ag Solutions Bombala/Delegate to see some local sheep get a colourful makeover!
*Billy Boiling Competition: An Aussie favourite at the Show! High school and primary school aged kids can give this a go thanks to sponsorship from the Delegate General Store.
* Jumping castle and inflatables, face painting and more: The kids will be spoilt for choice!
* Miss Showgirl and Baby, Tiny Tots and Junior Miss Showgirl Competition: The littlies will have their chance to shine on Show Day.
* Junior Judging: As usual there will be competitions for sheep and cattle, with sponsorship coming from Nutrien Ag Solutions and Monaro Wool Services.
* Historic Engine Display: This working display is always a fascinating peek into yesteryear.
* Fireworks: What better way to top off the 114th anniversary Show than with an exciting fireworks display! Special thanks to sponsors, Clear Cut Electrical, Get Switched Electrical and Merilyn Matthews. The sky fire will kick off on dark!
* Refreshments: From the traditional luncheon through to the kiosk, the barbecue and the bar, everyone will be satisfied at the 114th Delegate Show.
