Monaro cricket wins for Jindabyne, Berridale, Cooma Titans

Another top bowling effort by Jindabyne Tigers quick, Simon Partell, has headlined a busy weekend in Monaro cricket. Round four of the Alpine Hotel Monaro District Cricket Association one-day competition saw wins for Jindabyne, Berridale and the Cooma Titans. One of the weekend's talking points, was the latest bowling masterclass by Partell. Partell ran through the Dalgety line-up, picking-up 6/11 in seven overs. Partell's six wicket haul follows a hat-trick in the T20 grand final last month. Jindabyne's bowlers dismissed an under-strength Dalgety side for 71 at John Connors Oval. Chad Stevens collected three wickets, while best with the willow for Dalgety was Simon Freebody with 23. In reply, Jindabyne chased the total down in 12 overs thanks to a 20-ball 43 by Dave Tickell. Berridale delivered with the bat in its clash against Cooma side Rhythm at Nijong Oval. Berridale posted 219 with opener, Damien Rigg, top scoring with 74 off 64 balls. Rigg has been one of the competition's most consistent batters this season. Rhythm spinner, Babar Rehman, took three wickets with Berridale's batters made to work hard. Ben Hearn played a steady knock finishing on 28 before big-hitting Harry Litchfield found the boundary 10 times in his 58. In reply, Rhythm lost early wicket before Rehman and Kaeliff Khoury comubined nicely. Rehman, 25, and Khoury, 26, gave Rhythm a chance. A controlled spell by spinner, Dan Watts, ended Rhythm's hopes. Watts' 3/33 off eight overs removed Khoury and the free-swinging Muhammad Danial Arshad who top scored for his side with 37. A late cameo from Gus Brabham, 23 not out, saw Rhythm avoid being bowled out, denying Berridale bonus point. At Rotary Oval, the Cooma Titans and Bombala played out a close match. The Titans had a few nervous moments as they chased down 167 with three wickets in hand. Bombala posted 167 batting first with Jason Cikos the pick for his side with 56. Titans spinner, Aqib Abassi, continued his bowling form this season to finish with 5/24 off eight overs. The Titans reached 30 in reply before Abassi was dismissed for 25. Bombala toiled hard, snaring regular wickets. Mohsin Imran, 42, guided the Titans to a tight victory.
