A few hardy sailors raced in cold conditions last Wednesday, 12 November at the Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club. The wind was 11 knots and as usual, was gusty and shifting during the evening.
In the multi-hull division two, three Nacra 16s raced, completing three laps of the course from beyond Lion Island to the buoy just outside the sailing club. Adam Robinson was first across the line and first on handicap. Tim Symons was second and Andrew Kennedy, in his first race this season, was third.
In the single hulls, division 1, two laps were completed. Varden Robinson, on his windsurfer was first, closely followed by Thor and Hayden Slater in a Corsair, only three seconds behind on handicap. Tom Gunton, in his first sail with Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club, was third on a Laser Full Rig
Racing was followed by a barbecue meal in the clubhouse with the winners of each race winning a prize.
The club thanked Kerry and Lynne for their race officer duty, setting a great course, and to Steve and Ian for volunteering on the rescue boat.
